A Saville assessment is not one fixed test. Useful preparation begins with the exact Swift battery or single aptitude name in your invitation, then follows only the verbal, numerical, diagrammatic, abstract, checking or technical tracks inside it.
The provider family
What is a Saville assessment test?
Saville Assessment publishes a portfolio of workplace aptitude tests and psychometric questionnaires. An employer can assign a short Swift combination battery, one individual aptitude test or a broader process containing several different products. The provider name alone does not identify the questions you will receive.
Cognivy's launch route covers 12 cognitive aptitude tracks. These are the individual skills behind the Analysis, Comprehension, Technical, Global, Executive and Apprentice combinations. Personality, situational judgment and other non-cognitive products remain outside the launch library.
Platform versus test
Is Oasys the Saville assessment?
No. Oasys is Saville's assessment-administration platform. Employers can use it to manage candidates, communications, reports and different assessments. A link or login mentioning Oasys tells you where the assessment is delivered, not which aptitude test you need to prepare for.
Look past the platform name for wording such as Swift Analysis Aptitude, Swift Comprehension, Verbal Analysis, Numerical Comprehension or another named test. Choose that exact route in Cognivy.
Start with the invitation
Which Saville test is named in your invitation?
Saville uses both combined Swift batteries and separate aptitude tests. The battery name determines which learning tracks should appear in your diagnostic and roadmap.
- Swift Analysis Aptitude: verbal, numerical and diagrammatic analysis.
- Swift Comprehension Aptitude: verbal, numerical and error checking.
- Swift Technical Aptitude: spatial, mechanical and diagrammatic reasoning.
- Swift Apprentice Aptitude: all six Comprehension and Technical components.
- Swift Global Aptitude: number reasoning, abstract reasoning and memory recall.
- Swift Executive Aptitude: verbal, numerical and abstract aptitude.
A single-test invitation should lead to that one skill family. If the wording is incomplete, start with Swift Analysis as the broad Saville core and confirm the exact name before the final mock.
Use the accurate category
Is a Saville test an aptitude test or psychometric assessment?
Psychometric assessment is the broad category. Saville aptitude tests measure cognitive abilities such as working with written evidence, numerical information, diagrams, spatial relationships and mechanical principles. Cognivy prepares those scored cognitive tasks.
Wave Professional and Wave Focus are personality questionnaires, not aptitude tests. They measure workplace motives, talents and behavioural style through a different response format, so Wave practice is not included in Cognivy's launch package.
Featured combined battery
What is the Saville Swift Analysis aptitude test?
Swift Analysis Aptitude combines Verbal Analysis, Numerical Analysis and Diagrammatic Analysis in one 18-minute test. Saville positions the range for graduates, management trainees, professionals, managers and directors. The result can report both the combined performance and component scores.
A separate Swift Analysis Verbal & Numerical combination takes 24 minutes. Swift Executive also uses verbal and numerical aptitude but combines them with Abstract Reasoning. Match the full name, not merely the word Swift, before building your plan.
Three different response rules
How do Verbal, Numerical and Diagrammatic Analysis tests work?
Verbal Analysis asks you to evaluate written evidence, distinguish supported conclusions and identify the best summary. Numerical Analysis uses tables, charts and workplace data. Diagrammatic Analysis uses symbolic operators, inputs and outputs to test whether you can infer and apply a transformation process.
These are separate methods even when they appear inside one Swift battery. Learn each task without time pressure first, then practise switching between them while preserving the correct evidence, calculation and checking rules.
Operational and commercial roles
What is the Swift Comprehension aptitude range?
Swift Comprehension Aptitude combines Verbal Comprehension, Numerical Comprehension and Error Checking in 9.5 minutes. Saville also lists a 12-minute verbal-and-numerical combination and separate tests for each component.
Comprehension tasks use more direct workplace information than the Analysis range, but the short limits still reward disciplined reading and calculation. Error Checking is currently a six-minute single test, while separate verbal and numerical tests are listed at 16 minutes each.
Technical-role aptitude
What is the Swift Technical aptitude test?
Swift Technical combines Spatial Reasoning, Mechanical Reasoning and Diagrammatic Reasoning in a ten-minute assessment. The range is designed for technical roles such as production, construction, engineering and scientific work. The current single-test timings are eight, 12 and 16 minutes.
Swift Apprentice adds verbal, numerical and error-checking components to the same technical core, measuring six aptitude areas in 19.5 minutes. Prepare the exact combination rather than assuming all technical candidates receive the same battery.
Two distinct Swift routes
What are Swift Global and Swift Executive aptitude tests?
Swift Global is a highly visual 12-minute combination of Number Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning and Memory Recall. It is designed to reduce dependence on previous knowledge and language. Preparation should combine numerical relationships, visual pattern rules and exact short-term recall.
Swift Executive is an 18-minute combination of verbal, numerical and abstract aptitude for senior management and leadership roles. It shares components with the Analysis portfolio but replaces Diagrammatic Analysis with Abstract Reasoning, so the two batteries should not be treated as aliases.
From identification to rehearsal
How should you use Saville sample questions and mock tests?
- 1
Copy the exact Swift battery or single-test name from your invitation.
- 2
Take a diagnostic built only from the aptitude components inside that name.
- 3
Learn each task's evidence, calculation or transformation rule without time pressure.
- 4
Use focused sample questions and classify every miss by method, checking or pace.
- 5
Add the official timing and device rules in short provider-style practice sets.
- 6
Finish with a mock that combines only the components assigned by the employer.
Saville publishes timed familiarisation tests with onscreen feedback and warns that the example difficulty may not match the live test. Use official examples to confirm the interaction, then use original practice to build transferable methods rather than memorising answers.

Saville assessment FAQs
Saville Assessment publishes aptitude tests, personality questionnaires and other workplace assessments. Cognivy covers the 12 cognitive aptitude tracks listed on this page, including the Swift combination batteries assembled from them.
No. Oasys is Saville's assessment-administration platform. It can deliver different aptitude tests and questionnaires, so look inside the invitation or platform for a more specific name such as Swift Analysis Aptitude or Verbal Analysis.
Swift Analysis Aptitude is an 18-minute combination assessment covering Verbal Analysis, Numerical Analysis and Diagrammatic Analysis. Saville also offers a 24-minute verbal-and-numerical combination, so the exact invitation name matters.
Current official timings range from short six-minute Error Checking and ten-minute Swift Technical tests to 24-minute Analysis tests. Follow the time and device instructions shown for your assigned product because Saville can update its portfolio.
The Analysis range targets higher-complexity verbal, numerical, diagrammatic and abstract reasoning. The Comprehension range focuses on verbal comprehension, numerical comprehension and error checking for administrative, customer-service, operational and commercial roles.
Swift Technical combines spatial, mechanical and diagrammatic reasoning in a ten-minute assessment. Saville also offers these as separate tests, so Cognivy keeps the three learning tracks distinct before combining them in a rehearsal.
Saville publishes official timed familiarisation tests for its aptitude ranges. Cognivy lets you read this guide, take a short diagnostic and see your starting route before payment; complete timed drills are part of the practice package.
Use sample questions first to learn each task's rule and classify mistakes. Add short timed sets once the method is reliable, then finish with a mock that combines only the components named in your invitation.
There is no legitimate fixed answer set for a candidate's assigned assessment. Cognivy uses original questions and worked explanations to teach the methods; it does not provide confidential live content or take an assessment for someone else.
No. Wave Professional and Wave Focus are personality questionnaires. Cognivy's launch Saville route covers cognitive aptitude tests, not Wave, Work Strengths, situational judgment or other non-cognitive products.
Most Saville aptitude tests should be completed on a desktop or suitable tablet. Saville permits mobile access only for named exceptions, so the technical instructions attached to your assessment are authoritative.
No. Cognivy is independent and uses original Saville-style questions to teach the relevant reasoning methods, response formats and pacing. It does not reproduce live or confidential Saville Assessment content.
