Reasoning tests
Reasoning tests measure how you work with unfamiliar information under time pressure: numbers you have never seen, passages you have never read, patterns that follow a rule you have to find. They are the core of almost every employer assessment.
Not knowledge. A reasoning test hands you everything you need — a table, a passage, a sequence of figures — and measures whether you can draw the right conclusion from it quickly. That is why practice moves scores: the reasoning moves repeat, and they can be learned.
Short, timed, multiple choice. Most run 10 to 25 minutes with under a minute per question. The types differ in material — numerical uses data, verbal uses passages, abstract and matrix use figures — but the discipline is the same: find the rule, check it, answer, move on.
